Cookie Policy

// last updated: 2026-05-07

This page explains what cookies and similar local-storage technologies Corgi uses on the marketing site (corgiseo.com), and what they're for. Once the hosted application launches, this policy will be extended to cover it.

The very short version: we use the minimum we can get away with. *no tracker tail-wagging.*

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Cookies are read back on subsequent visits, usually to remember a session, a preference, or an authentication state.

Categories we use

1. Strictly necessary

These cookies make the site and the application work. Without them, you couldn't sign in, stay signed in, or have your settings persist between page loads. They're not optional, and they don't require consent under most jurisdictions.

  • corgi_session — your authenticated session token (HTTPOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax)
  • corgi_csrf — anti-CSRF token for form submissions
  • corgi_workspace — remembers which workspace you have selected

2. Analytics (privacy-friendly, no fingerprinting)

We use a privacy-respecting analytics setup that does not set persistent identifiers, does not track you across sites, and does not require a cookie banner under most regulations. Specifically: Plausible Analytics, with anonymized IP and no cross-site tracking.

3. Marketing

We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run retargeting pixels.

Local storage

The dashboard uses localStorage to remember UI preferences (collapsed sidebars, last-viewed report). This data lives on your device and is never sent to our servers.

Managing cookies

You can clear cookies in your browser at any time. Doing so will sign you out of Corgi, and your saved UI preferences will reset to defaults. The application will continue to work normally; you'll just need to sign in again.

Third parties

We do not embed third-party trackers, social-media widgets, or chat scripts on this site. We do load Google Fonts via the standard CSS endpoint; this is a request to Google's servers but does not set a tracking cookie. If you'd like fonts self-hosted instead, email us and we'll prioritize the change.

Changes

When we add or remove a cookie, we update this page and bump the date above.
